A city tour in Sartene
A historic tour of Sartene, Corsica, takes you through one of the island’s most character-filled towns, famously described as “the most Corsican of Corsican towns.” Sartene’s medieval center is a labyrinth of cobbled streets, granite houses, and charming squares, each echoing tales of Corsican heritage, vendettas, and centuries-old traditions. Highlights include the 16th-century Saint Mary’s Church, where the Good Friday Catenacciu procession starts, one of Corsica’s oldest religious rites. You’ll also find the Place de la Libération with stunning views, and the town’s museum, which houses archaeological artifacts from prehistoric Corsica, offering a window into its storied past.

A historic tour of Bonifacio, Corsica, immerses you in the island’s oldest and most dramatic town, perched on limestone cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean. The tour winds through the medieval citadel, with its ancient stone walls, narrow alleys, and stunning views of the sea. Key highlights include the Escalier du Roi d’Aragon (King Aragon’s Staircase), a striking staircase carved into the cliffside, and the 12th-century Saint-Dominique Church, Corsica’s only Gothic structure. The tour also explores the ancient Bastion de l’Étendard, where exhibits recount Bonifacio’s storied past of piracy, maritime trade, and strategic military importance.
